Fluke 8808A Digital Multimeter
The Fluke 8808A digital multimeter dependably performs the most common measurements required for nearly any application. This rugged, easy-to-use multimeter is remarkably easy to use, even by unskilled operators, because it makes the measurements you perform most often fast and easy.
The 8808A has a broad range of functions – volts, ohms, and amps – with a basic VDC accuracy of 0.015%. The meter utilizes six setup buttons on the front panel which operate like a car radio’s station presets. Simply set up a common measurement and save the setting. Each subsequent time that measurement needs to be performed, simply press the appropriate setup key saving users considerable time.
As you would expect from any Fluke meter, the 8808A is loaded with advanced features. The unit has a unique dual display that allows you to measure two different parameters of the same signal from one test connection. Looking at dual interrelated parameters like voltage and current simultaneously can reveal conditions that might go unnoticed otherwise, greatly simplifying test and troubleshooting. The 8808A is also the only multimeter in its class to use a low-impedance operational amplifier and current-to-voltage conversion technique to eliminate the burden voltage and measure sensitive low currents. In this special mode, the 8808A can accurately measure small currents with a resolution of up to 100 nA. Patented split terminal jacks for the 2×4-wire ohms function allow you to perform 4-wire measurements using only two leads instead of four. Also, the 8808A display has built-in enunciators that clearly show the operator whether a test passes or fails. The pass/fail indicators take the guesswork out of testing: the result is either within limits or it’s out.
The included software, FlukeView Forms Basic, increases the power of the Fluke 8808A by enabling you to document, store and analyze individual readings or series of measurements, then convert them into professional looking documents. Transfer data points from your meter to your PC and use the standard, non-customizable forms to display your readings in table or graphical form. For a larger array of forms or to use FlukeView Forms Designer to customize your forms, you’ll need to upgrade to FlukeView Forms 3.0 with FVF-UG.
